The Holiday 2016 Collection draws influence from a not so silent night in Paris – a visit to the infamous Club Silencio – and a re-appreciation of cinema and film, particularly the works of David Lynch. With that in mind, this season delivers a serious collection in a playful and artful way. Cue our interpretation of the “Black Lodge”, adapted according to the LAD spirit. The line is familiar but unexpected, blending classic menswear with a modern rustic sportswear influence.Styling is understated, but details matter. Think small town feel with big city ambitions. The collection offers plenty of layering and smart styling that can be merchandised and worn all year long and ranges from a mix of traditional plaids, garment dyed knits, cozy cardigans and sweaters paired with novelties such as reversible jackets, tech inspired fabrics, double weaves, pigment printed flannels, jacquard patterns, soft cashmeres and Italian yarns. The palette is dark and sophisticated, like Lynch’s work, yet colorful, creating an overriding mood where all is calm but all is bright.
