We know, we know...we just featured a burger last week. So sue us, we love ourselves a good juicy patty. Our favorite is the Roadside Double, a double Swiss cheeseburger with Dijon mustard and onions simmered in bacon and beer. Now...wherever your bun loyalties lie, the opening of Shake Shack LA is pretty big news regardless. If you haven't had a chance to taste this bad boy, we'd suggest marking your calendars for 2017. It may be a year out, but it'll be something to look forward to all year.
Shake Shack sprouted from a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park in Manhattan to support the Madison Square Park Conservancy’s first art installation. The cart was quite the success, with Shack fans lined up daily for three summers.
In 2004, a permanent kiosk opened in the park: Shake Shack was born. This modern day “roadside” burger stand serves up the most delicious burgers, hot dogs, frozen custard, shakes, beer, wine and more. An instant neighborhood fixture, Shake Shack welcomed people from all over the city, country and world who gathered together to enjoy fresh, simple, high-quality versions of the classics in a majestic setting. The rest, as they say, is burger history.
And by the way, you can order beer and wine with your burger. The restaurant is going to have a selection of local craft beer from Firestone Walker Brewing Co., Ballast Point Brewing, Angel City Brewing, Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co., Lost Coast Brewery and North Coast Brewing Co. The restaurant also has its own wine from Frog's Leap Winery called Shack Red and Shack White.
